How can I score higher?

There are a number of ways of scoring higher:

  • Switch off the movement guides in puzzle settings
  • Choose the loop mode which is more difficult than the strip mode
  • Choose a more difficult style, for example, audio only instead of audio and image
  • Choose a larger number of segments (this may require the use of tokens)
  • Complete an album - this doubles your album score
  • And, of course, aiming for the lowest number of moves

How can I play against others?

There are two ways:

  • Join the leaderboard on Apple Game Center. This leaderboard runs on a weekly basis and records the best album scores. Check your position against your friends and others.
  • Share your album scores through the app using the sharing icon from the album view or the puzzle view. Sharing can be through social media, messaging apps, emails and so on.

Can the audio clicks on segment moves be turned off?

Yes, if you prefer not to have audio clicks as each segment moves into its new location, simply go to the settings in the puzzle view and switch off movement audio clicks.

Can automatic audio playing be turned off?

If a style is chosen that includes audio, the current arrangement of the audio clip is played automatically after each move. However, if you prefer not to have this, you can disable autoplay audio through the settings in the puzzle view. You can still start the audio by tapping a segment, and it will start from that tile.

Can I change the speed at which segments move?

After a move, you may find that segments move too slowly or too fast for your liking. You can select different movement speeds through the settings in the puzzle view:

Slow        Normal        Fast        Blazing

How will I know when new puzzles are available?

Notifications are sent out when new albums are released. Make sure notifications are enabled for Polytangle in your device settings under ‘Notifications’.

You can also keep an eye on the Feed view which lists albums according to their start date and time, with the most recent albums shown first.

New albums will also be announced on our social media channels. Follow us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest.

How can I play the app on a large screen?

The best way to do this is to connect your iOS device to a larger device, such as a TV, using a Lightning to HDMI converter. The larger device must also support audio.

The alternative method of using the iOS Screen Mirroring facility exhibits delays in audio start up which makes puzzles difficult to play.

Why are there channels as well as categories?

Categories provide a route to a selection of albums based on your passions, such as nature or music.

Channels provide a route to a selection of albums based on a publisher.

Choose the route that suit you best!
